In this Harvard Business School working paper, David Moss, Anant Thaker, and Howard Rudnick review the literature and find no academic consensus on the consequences of inequality. They suggest that research focusing on the mechanisms through which inequality may impact individual decision making could help to further understanding on this important question.

In May and June Jeremi Suri and Benjamin Valentino led research workshops on sustainable national security strategy in Austin, TX, Hanover, NH, and Cambridge, MA.  At the workshops authors intensively discussed revised versions of selected papers from Tobin’s December 2012 national security conference.  Authors will use the feedback to help revise their papers in preparation for publication in an edited Tobin Project volume.

On June 4, 2013, the Tobin Project hosted a reception to celebrate the organization's 2013 MacArthur Award for Creative & Effective Institutions.  Held in Boston, the evening featured a talk from Tobin Project scholar and MIT Professor Stephen Van Evera on “Terrorism: What We Don’t Know and What We Need to Learn,” as well as remarks from founder David Moss.
